Ten Reasons to Let Your Kid Major in Music
not quite the same in here ‘cause 1) the music degree here isn’t as academic as a major in music elsewhere (I think) and 2) people are still relatively narrow-minded (friends in the UK have gotten an accounting job with a music degree, a legal job as well but completely unheard of and not allowed in Singapore).
Perhaps tragedies are only tragedies in the presence of love, which confers meaning to loss. Loss is not felt in the absence of love.

3h well spent :)
- lifestyle as an idol - do you worship a particular lifestyle to the extent that it becomes impossible (or very difficult) for you to give it up in order to respond in obedience to something else God calls you to do?
- why is it so important for us to be recognised at work? are we not secure in our identity as children of God, knowing that He has ordained all our days, our opportunities, our careers, our families etc.
- not climbing the corporate ladder for the sake of itself, but only as a result of seeking excellence because we do our best in whatever we’re tasked with
- surrendering our lives to Him and being a good steward of the talents and opportunities so graciously given to us - and only then shall we live our lives freely to be the person He has created us to be
today’s sermon (uke 12:22-40):
- our anxieties reveal who/what we put our faith in - what are you constantly worried about? what is the treasure in your heart that you’re constantly seeking for?
- but we are called to live a life of faith and purpose, seeking His kingdom above all else - is your thought life filled with faith? or with worry?
- ask God to reveal to you His treasures e.g. the people around you for you to sow the seeds of His gospel, for His kingdom to bear fruit
- how are you fulfilling God’s calling for you at your workplace?
